Meredith's Getting Married!

We all met up at Molly's house in CT to celebrate Mer's engagement. We had a great time pouring over bridal magazines and talking details. We took a brief break for a hike in the nearby national park, it was a gorgeous day to be out and about. Molly's husband Andrew made us some delicious shrimp spring rolls for dinner. It was such a great weekend!

Gavin and Graham

I made it down to DC for one last trip before Jamie and Becky made the big move. Gavin and Graham were both so cute and lots of fun. Gavin loves playing in the woods behind his new house. I can't wait to go back and see them again when they're all settled in!

Montreal!

Priya, Ether and I on her uncle's porch after a HUGE Cambodian BBQ feast.

Esther, Priya, Kavita and I took a road trip up to Montreal last weekend. Despite a long wait at the border, once we arrived we had such a fun time!! The city was beautiful, and we all practiced our French. Esther's uncle hosted us and his daughters were our gracious tour guides. We ate tons of good food and laughed for three days straight. It was a great mini-Spring Break!

Kavita and I were named Sous Chef 2 and 3 (Esther was 1) to help prepare the main course. This was after three other courses over four hours!!

Esther's super cute family after a morning run. He lives in a really nice neighborhood right on the St. Lawrence River, which made for some beautiful morning runs.

Kavita, me, Esther, Priya in back, and Cousins Cynthia and Olivia, and their friend Gabrielle in front. We were at a cabernes a sucre, or a sugar shack. That's why we're dressed like lumber jacks! Over 75% of the world's maple syrup comes from Quebec, so they have all these old time farms where you can go eat tons of syrup and act like it's the old days. We didn't quite get the dress code right, but still had lots of fun.

Priya and I at a rest stop in the Adironacks. It took us 9 hours to get home because we stopped at so many beautiful lookouts.

Spin!

Kavita, Esther, Darren Priya and I ended up at Susan Sarandon's Ping-Pong club, SPIN on Saturday night. We didn't play any ping-pong, but had lots of fun celebrating our friend's birthday and snacking on Parmesan popcorn - it was sooooooo good!!

Snowboarding on Hunter Mountain

I took a day off on Friday to drive up to Hunter Mountain with Esther and Darren. It's only about two hours north of the city, but you feel like you're in a completely different world. I love NY, but every once in a while you need a break from all the people and cement. It was 60 degrees and sunny, but we were far enough north that they still had lots of snow. It was a bit slushy, but TONS of fun and not crowded at all. It was a perfect day!

Sonia's Engaged!

From left to right this is Chastity, Jillian, Sonia, Emily, Rachel and me. This is one of my closest group of friends in the city, so we all had to go out to Flute, a champagne bar, and celebrate a few weeks ago when Sonia got engaged! She met her fiance, Vinay, through a family connection about 9 months ago. He proposed to her over brunch at Cafe Lola's on the Upper West Side (where Tom Hanks stands up Meg Ryan in "You've Got Mail"). We're pushing them to get married in India and just have a party in Connecticut where her parents live, as we all want to go on a trip this winter ;-) Congrats to Sonia!!!

January Food Group

We had Food Group at Jenny and Kates' this month - Jenny cooked. She made AMAZING spinach and cheese enchiladas, and Kate made an incredible dip that tasted like a traditional sour cream dip, but was actually made with Greek Yogurt! Healthy and delicious!

Dance Club and the Theater

Esther and I made it out to Chinatown to a new club that just opened up. It was pretty cheesy but fun - lots of good dancing. Beforehand, I met up with Kate, Kate, and Jenny and went to an off-off-Broadway play put on by a family friend. It was fun! But even better, was the post-dinner at the closest Italian place/wine bar. It's a great theater district recommendation if anyone ever needs it!

Emily's Bday and Brunch

The Scotland girls reunited at Emily's Bday last month. We traveled all the way out to Queens to celebrate and had a great time together!

That's the birthday girl in the middle.

Alice's Tea Cup for brunch on a cold day. We went to the Frick afterward - it was a great NY day.

Brooklyn Bowl!

When Drew came to visit for New Years, we braved the cold to discover Brooklyn Bowl. Bowling is really expensive in Manhattan, so instead we trekked to Williamsburg, a neighborhood in Brooklyn. It's a Brewery and has live music and the wait to bowl can be up to 4 hours - but with food and beer we were willing to wait, and eventually had a great couple of games. Although I won with a score of 101, so I think we need to practice a bit!

New Years

Kate and jenny had a really fun New Years bash. Laura came over from Boston and Drew came from Ohio. We were all dressed up and had a blast welcoming in 2010!

Kate made the Martha Stewart cupcake countdown clock. I think Martha would have been proud :-)

Christmas Photos! (finally)

Despite the travel issues, we had a really fun Christmas at home in Granville with Jamie, Becky, Mom, Dad, Aunt Connie, Gavin, and of course Graham. Gavin was so excited for Santa and just about flipped when he found his new train set in the morning. Thanks mom and dad for hosting all of us!!

Sledding in Prospect Park (Brooklyn)

Sledding in Brooklyn with Kate, Jenny and Aaron! It was freezing cold, but lots of fun.

December Food Group

We had our final Food Group of the year at Kate Billman's house in Brooklyn. I made carrot/sweet potato soup, which everyone loved. Billman made chicken manicotti (which I couldn't eat because of this whole vegetarian thing, but it looked delicious), and Kate made a beautiful pea and spinach salad. It was so good!!

Jingle Bell 5k

Jillian, Ryan and I met up on a freezing cold Saturday morning a few weeks ago to run a Jingle Bell 5k. Despite the cold, we showed our Christmas spirit, ran well, and had a delicious brunch in my neighborhood afterward. You can't really tell, but those are antlers on my head, they stayed on the whole race!
